Anthropic’s IPO faces doubts, OpenAI weighs a 2027 listing, and AI firms pursue funding, acquisitions and cybersecurity tools

• Anthropic’s IPO could be delayed and value the company around $1 trillion, below its $1.5 trillion target, reports said, amid investor doubts after a technology selloff. Its amended filing showed roughly $895 billion in compute commitments. ¹²³⁴⁵
• OpenAI could be ready for a 2027 IPO, President Greg Brockman said. A separate report said the company was about to raise $11 billion, below its $30 billion target. ⁶⁷
• AI startups pursued major funding rounds: Thinking Machines Lab was closing in on $5 billion at a $40 billion valuation, while Kuaishou’s Kling AI unit completed a roughly $2.98 billion round. ⁸⁹
• Meta explored building AI infrastructure outside the US as Democratic election victories complicated its $145 billion US buildout plans. The company has agreed to roughly $825 billion in future leases and contracts, many linked to computing and AI infrastructure. ¹⁰¹¹
• OpenAI launched GPT-6 Cyber for vetted security customers, saying it found 81 high-severity Firefox vulnerabilities and 948 Linux exploits. The model can find previously unknown vulnerabilities and develop working exploits, with access restricted to prevent misuse. ¹²¹³¹⁴
• AI companies acquired coding-related startups: OpenAI agreed to buy Pierre Computer Company, subject to regulatory approval; Mistral acquired code-tool maker SkipLabs; and Meta bought an AI startup as it entered the coding race. ^15161718
