About Distill Intelligence

Distill Intelligence monitors news, company sites, and LinkedIn for any public or private business, surfacing the developments you can’t afford to miss.

Distill fits into the way your team already works, with updates by email, in Slack or Microsoft Teams, or via API.

What Distill Intelligence does

Distill Intelligence is a company intelligence and news monitoring platform. It follows the companies and topics you care about and tells you when something important happens.

  • Track any company or topic

Follow any company by its website, or create your own topics for anything you want to follow, from open banking to semiconductor supply chains.

  • Monitor every source, in any language

Distill finds updates across news outlets, trade publications, company blogs, newsrooms, and LinkedIn posts, including the ones that never make the headlines. Articles in other languages are translated into English automatically.

  • Filter by topic and business impact

Narrow your feed to events like product launches, funding rounds, or leadership changes, and hide routine posts with little business impact.

  • Get updates where your team already works

Read updates in the web app, or get them by email, in Slack or Microsoft Teams, or through the REST API.

How Distill works

From signup to your first update in a few minutes.

  1. Step 1

    Two-minute onboarding

Start a 14-day free trial with your work email and set up your first watchlists in about two minutes, with no credit card required. Teams can also get help with bulk domain imports and shared workspace setup.

  2. Step 2

    Continuous monitoring

Distill checks every source around the clock. When a company makes an announcement or gets covered in the press, the update is picked up, translated into English if needed, and added to your feed.

  3. Step 3

    Automated summaries and impact scoring

Duplicate reports are clustered into a single event with links to every source. Distill then filters out marketing noise, writes a short summary, and scores the event by business impact.

  4. Step 4

    Updates on your schedule

Get real-time alerts as news breaks, a daily recap of the last 24 hours, or a Friday digest of the week’s biggest developments.

What makes Distill different

Most monitoring tools are built around stock tickers or keyword alerts. Distill is built around companies.

  • Full coverage of private companies

Many tools only cover companies with stock tickers. Distill works for any business with a website, from niche startups to large public corporations.

  • Tracks companies, not keywords

Keyword-based alerts can’t tell Apple the company from apple the fruit. Distill tracks each company as an entity, so you only see news that is actually about it.

  • Direct company announcements

Beyond third-party news outlets, Distill monitors where companies share their own news first, like corporate blogs, changelogs, press rooms, and LinkedIn.

  • Only the developments that matter

Most alert tools send a link every time a name is mentioned. Distill surfaces the developments that are actually important to your business, so nothing critical gets lost in the noise.

  • The same data in the app and the API

The news and company data behind the dashboard is also available through the Company News API, ready to feed into CRMs, internal tools, or AI applications.

  • Straightforward pricing

No sales calls or forced annual contracts. Distill is self-serve, starts at $59/month with monthly billing, and includes a 14-day free trial.

The story behind Distill

Distill exists to make sure teams never miss the developments that matter at the companies they follow.

Distill Intelligence was founded in 2024 by Gustav Fridell. Before starting Distill, Gustav worked at Y Combinator-backed GetAccept, advised private equity clients on commercial due diligence and value creation at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and invested in growth-stage technology companies at Bullhound Capital.

At BCG and Bullhound Capital, Gustav spent hours manually checking corporate websites, blogs, and news feeds to keep track of private companies. The tools available either covered only public companies or produced too much noise to be useful, so he built Distill to find the developments that matter and deliver them automatically.

Distill Intelligence AB is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. Connect with Gustav on LinkedIn or follow Distill Intelligence on LinkedIn.
