Distill has always helped you stay on top of companies by tracking news, surfacing updates, and summarizing what matters.

Now we are adding a new way to use Distill: Topics.

Topics let you track any area

With Topics, you can define any subject you want to follow, and Distill will build a live feed of news and summaries around it.

This can be broad areas like AI safety, nuclear energy, or semiconductor supply chains. It can be regulatory or policy areas like European defense spending or open banking. It can also be more specific subjects like NVIDIA Blackwell adoption, Microsoft Copilot in healthcare, or M&A activity in cybersecurity.

If there is relevant news about it, Distill will pick it up and keep it updated.

How it works

Creating a topic is simple.

You click “New topic”, give it a name, and add a few keywords that describe what you want to track. That is it.

From there, Distill continuously looks for relevant articles, filters out noise, and produces a clean stream of updates with summaries so you can quickly understand what is happening.

No search queries to build. No manual tracking of sources. No sorting through irrelevant news.

Why we built it

Company tracking works well when you already know which organizations matter.

But a lot of useful monitoring is about broader areas. For example, if you are following AI in insurance, relevant updates might come from startups, incumbents, regulators, research groups, or consulting firms. The signal is in the topic itself, not just the companies.

Topics give you a simple way to track those areas directly inside Distill.
